Home Ice Cream Machines
There are a variety of reasons why people choose to purchase home ice cream machines. With summer right around the corner, there couldn't be a better time to own one. You can find one at just about any place that sells kitchen appliances. Places such as Wal-Mart, Target, K-mart, and Sears are just a few of the best places to shop when looking for discount prices.
Have you ever thought about how much you spend on your favorite creamy dessert at the grocery store? Most brands cost between $5.00 and $7.00 per half gallon. The majority of home ice cream machines cost between $40.00 and $60.00. Considering that most families purchase ice cream on a regular basis, the savings are definitely worth it. Not to mention, homemade always tastes better to most people. You also don't have to worry about all of the extra chemicals and preservatives that most other manufactured brands contain.
One of the greatest things about home ice cream machines is the variety available. There isn't just one particular type. There is the Hamilton Beach 1 1/2 Quart Maker that makes your favorite icy treat within 20-40 minutes. All you have to do is add the ingredients and like magic, your cold treat is ready in a jiffy. If you'd rather take a more old-fashioned approach, then there is the White Mountain 6-quart Hand-Crank machine. With this machine, you get a lot more the old-fashioned way by using a hand crank. The biggest convenience to this particular machine is that you get to choose the texture you want. For creamier icy treat, simply churn a bit more.
Another one of the home machines available is the Play & Freeze 1-Pint Ice Cream Maker Ball. This machine allows you to make 1-quart of your favorite flavor within 30 minutes. It's also portable, meaning that you can take it anywhere with you. It only weighs 3 pounds, making it the perfect addition for picnicking, camping, and road trips.
If you want more, you might find that you like the Deni Automatic Ice Cream Maker with Candy Crusher. This machine requires no ice or salt, and is automatic, so it's hassle-free. What makes this machine so unique is that it crushes up pieces of candy into your favorite flavor, and it's also very affordable.
Sure, you can always purchase your favorite brand at the store or in a restaurant, but what could be better than making your own icy treat at home? Anything homemade is always better, and cheaper.

The Many Choices Available in Vending Machines
Vending machines can be found all around us, but unless you are interested in what they offer you may not realize what is in them. If you make a conscious effort though you will see many things in them that you may not have realized before. All of us are familiar with those that offer snacks and drinks. Even ice cream and hot cups of coffee can be found dispensed from some of them.
Basically, a vending machine is a place to sell items that a person may need in that vicinity. They don't require a person to be there to complete the sales transaction as it is all automated. I have seen some very creative items in vending machines. For example I recently went to the bowling alley with my kids for a birthday party. I had on sandals and realized that I couldn't bowl without a pair of socks. Guess what I found in the vending machine?
The key is to fill the vending machine with whatever may sell well at that location. For example many hotels have vending machines that offer razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, mouthwash, and more. These are all common items that people may forget to pack for their trip but really need. They love being able to insert some money and get that item without any problems.
Even newspapers are found to be offered in vending machines. The days of someone standing on the street corners with them is in the past. You can just insert your coins and get the newspaper you want though. It isn't uncommon for several different newspapers to be offered in a common location either.
Nothing is off limits when it comes to the world of vending machines though. You could buy fresh flowers for $10, $20, and even $50 depending on what type of arrangement you were interested in. The convenience of this makes sense and plenty of people were taking the time to buy them as well.
The last time I was at the airport I noticed people buying fresh flowers from a vending machine. That is a perfect gift you can get to greet someone you are picking up at the airport. You can also buy them when you get off the plane to take to the person you are meeting. Such convenience is something that consumers love to have right at their fingertips.
Japan has the most vending machines of any country. It shouldn't be surprising given the number of people who live there. Yet they have the most of them compared to people. In fact there is one vending machine for about every twenty people in Japan. So regardless of where you go there you will be sure to find one.
Vending machines certainly offer us much more than we often realize. They are located in places we frequent not by chance but in an effort to get us to make a purchase. Behind every vending machine is a business owner who has taken a risk. They have invested in the machines and the products they place in them. They do all they can to ensure they have consumers who will continue to buy these items.

Ice Cream Vending Machines
Ice cream vending machines offer frozen food solutions on a 24/7 basis. They can be placed on streets, malls, supermarkets, railway stations, commercial places etc. Ice cream vending machines offer attractive business opportunities to earn money. They hold around 2% market share of the total vending business, which means billions of dollars turn over per year. Ice cream vending machines offer a wide range of choices such as ice cream only models, integrated frozen food models, and complete meal models. Apart from new machines, used and refurbished models are also available in the market.
Many Ice cream vending machines have a touch screen front door. Some models prepare fresh ice cream from pre loaded ingredients according to the recipe in their memory. These machines have a coin slot, which accepts all types of coins. Most ice cream vending machines have coin changers, and bill stackers.
Generally, ice cream vending machines are decorated with striking accessories such as logos, side covers, hub caps etc. to attract the attention of people. These machines are available in different capacities. Some machines offer product selections up to 200 varieties. Computers are incorporated in modern ice cream vending machines to enhance their functionality. Cold plate freezers are introduced in the freezing mechanism to make it more energy efficient than dry ice models.
Ice cream vending machines are manufactured by many companies. They customize the machines according to the theme of the customers. USI CF 1000, USI FF 2000, F631, Z400C are among the popular models of ice cream vending machines.

Ice Cram Vending Machines
Science fiction was introduced to vending during the NAMA show in late October of 1997. A New Jersey start-up company, Fast Corp was all the rage, lines were down and around the aisles of the show, people waiting to watch the machine's robotic arm fetch the products that were being selected by show goers.
We placed a dozen or more of these coin operated frozen food wonders in car dealerships, schools, offices, factories, and hotels the year after they were introduced at the NAMA show. A frozen food/ice cream vending machine can be one of the best "door openers" for overturning new high-volume vending-locaitons. This coin-operated frozen food machine has a robotic arm that is visible to the customer, because the machine's upper half is one big glass window. It moves its nozzle over the machine's frozen bin where the products are stored, the arms nozzle sucks up the product that has been purchased with a vacuum device, and then it moves around and places the selection into the delivery area and drops it.
The robotic arm had a couple issues in the beginning, but all coin-operated machines go through a Bata-test period, and Fast Corp corrected the problem by fielding and acting on all-complaints. Do manufacturers of vending equipment test their new machines before they start to distribute them? Yes, of course they do. Do some manufacturers miss some problems or start to distribute their vending machine before all of the problems are completely solved? Yes! Why do you think that Ford, GMAC, Toyota, etc constantly have recalls? Because every new product comes to a point where the manufacturer just needs to start selling their product or they have just failed to identify all of the machine's problems. I would not acquire a used Food Court machine that was made-in the first three years of manufacturing. All other years are all right; buying a used or a used refurbished frozen food vending machine can be very cost effective.
Lets be clear, if you choose to purchase a used machine of any kind, be sure that you write down the serial number from the back of the machines and call the machine's manufacturer; if it has had problems, the manufacturer generally will be very direct and layout the problems that existed and how they were resolved or what you should look-out for.
Locating Ice Cream Machines
Almost all vending providers have a pessimistic reaction when they are ask to supply a specific vending-machine for a precise job, so we use their negativity against them, here is what I am talking about. The normal vending machine-company only sets aside 10% or less for new machine purchase each year. This means if they don't already own the coin operated machine that has been requested they really think long and hard before they will buy a $5,000 piece of equipment.
Your competition will try to overcome all requests for high-tech vending machines and credit card acceptors; this works a great-deal of the time unless there is a third party involved in the conversation. This is where dangling a frozen food - ice-cream machine in front of the decision maker works like a charm. For example, we talk to hotels and schools and offer them a Fast Corp machine if we can takeover their snack and or cold drink vending, we tell them our frozen food vending-machine will come stocked with what ever they choose from our list of frozen food products; frozen, burgers, dogs, pizzas sandwiches and entrees like pasta, grilled chicken and Chinese food, frozen ice cream cones, pints, drum-stick and ice cream sandwiches or a combination of both. We also offer them credit card acceptors on all machines.
Stand back and let the sparks fly; generally if they like their vending company they will want to talk to the company and request the new machine that they now just have to have. If the company says no or tries to switch them to cold food, we end up with an exclusive vending contract for frozen food. If the contract is already up, even if they like the vending company presently providing them service we have a better than 50% chance of overturning the contract for their entire vending services.

Ice Making Machines For Restaurants
Image : http://www.flickr.com
Ice making machines are an essential tool for commercial kitchens, restaurants and fast food outlets. Ice makers tend to be reliable if well maintained and will provide years of service.
In researching this piece of equipment the first area to address is what is the demand of your business? How many people do you serve, what requirements does your menu place for ice? Is ice required continuously or is there a peak, will demand increase in the future?
A starting figure for restaurants may be around 2 lbs. of ice per person. This figure is elastic and depends on your menu and the use of ice for food presentation. Introduction of exotic drinks, or guest accommodation will require a greater volume of ice. The availability of additional or larger ice bins will assist with this type of growth.
Another consideration is the type of ice. Ice comes in the common cube or half cube shape, nugget, flake, shaved and variations of these. As the surface area of the ice increases, the ice melts quicker, so before deciding on a particular type, examine what others are already using to determine how a particular ice shape will perform.
Once the type and amount of ice has been determined, the logistics of installing a machine into your premises should be examined.
Deciding on the location of your ice making machine should take into account:
1. The availability of drinking water, power and drainage. All three are required to run the ice maker.
2. Preferably a low humidity and a low temperature location will help the machine operate more efficiently. An area without air currents will minimise evaporation which decreases ice storage time.
3. Will the noise from the machine effect the comfort of patrons? Possibly the machine needs to be more remote. Typically air cooled machines tend to create more noise. Water cooled machines are quieter, however, are more expensive to install, and more expensive to run especially where water is scarce.
One way around this is an air cooled machine with a remote condenser, typically installed externally (and more expensively).
Consideration to filtering the water prior to generating the ice is recommended. In-line filtration will promote a cleaner ice, and a better tasting ice.
Once an ice generating system is in place, a cleaning and maintenance program should be implemented. This program will prolong the life of the ice machine and ensure the quality of the ice.
The cleaning should include cleaning of the water filtration unit, purging of the water line, and cleaning of the ice making plate or bars to remove mineral build up.
Cleaning of the ice storage bins is a very important aspect of good manufacturing process and needs to be maintained to a high standard.
