Perfume For the Mature Woman

While every perfume smells differently on every person, there are certain scents that are more complementary to younger and older wearers. For example, extremely fruity smells tend to be better suited to young girls. Some perfume manufacturers will even target girls as young as twelve with their fruity and floral scents. On the other hand, scents that are more complicated and have musky bases with sexy scents like jasmine and roses are meant to be worn by more mature women.

Many women pick a scent early in their life and tend to stick with it throughout. However, as the choices for perfume have gotten more and more diverse, it is possible to choose different scents for different stages in your life as well as different season of the year. If you have been wearing the same scent or group of scents since high school, maybe it is time to try to find something that reflects the mature woman you have become. Just like you did when you were searching for your first scent, you need to go to the store with no perfume or cologne on and try one perfume at a time until you find ones that complement your body chemistry in a favorable way.

One thing to look for in a mature scent is complexity. There will be three distinct notes with each note having a number of scents. The top note will usually last a bit longer than it does with inexpensive perfumes as will each subsequent note. Because of the longevity, make sure that you give your body adequate time to react to each scent and smell it throughout the day and not just in the first hour after you have it on.

Certain scents are used more often in mature perfumes such as musk and jasmine. You will also find ingredients that are more unusual in the better perfumes such as tobacco, Tonka bean, green tea, ginger and bergamot. Of course, the better the perfume the more you will have to pay for it. However, as we get older and wiser we should be able to splurge for something nice for ourselves occasionally.
