Retro Lovin' in the Modern Times

Anything vintage and classic are making a comeback these days. From music to graphic design, this old-fashioned stuff has transcended time and are making their mark to the new generation. And did I mention it also includes sweets? Yes, while we thought the sweet treats that we used to love back then are gone, they're not. Lucky for us not only will we still be able to relish the taste of retro sweets we used to love, but we get to share it with the young ones and tell them stories about our favorite sweet treats.

People's love for sweets surpasses the passing of time. What we use to love back then, we still do now. The unforgettable feeling while the sugar touches, our palates and the Beatles' song playing on the radio is something we don't want to let go. Sweets back then are prepared a little more natural than major mainstream brands do now. The good thing is, they also managed to preserve the way they manufacture these old-fashioned but times transcending goodies.

You may have noticed that as years go by, the retro sweets you used to love when you were still a kid gradually vanished from supermarket shelves and candy shops. You may have thought that as the major brands took over the market and their continuous development of sweet products, the traditional sweet you have yearned for years was gone. Limited production could have been the cause; they may be elusive but not gone. The sweets your palate love are still around!

While fashion always makes an obvious comeback every time an old style is being revived, retro sweets don't. Unless you're an aficionado and a die-hard-sweet-toothed person, then you would have noticed. For the general public though it's a different story. The majority only relies on media for information. So while you're craving for some traditional sweets, you end up buying the ones readily available and on reach.

Though the craving for retro sweets remained, the challenge of facing off with major sweet products front runners proves to be a hard one. Surely, however better old-fashioned sweets are without marketing and the absence of a kick-ass commercial and a million dollar ad, they will still remain elusive, almost out of sight.
